Mt. Timpanogos

Kent and I went for a drive through the Alpine Loop during the Memorial Day weekend. This is on the hike to Timpanogos Cave.

No Snakes!

I think most people know that I am deathly afraid of snakes. (And bugs, and clowns, and cottage cheese, and...). Anyway, I was not too pleased to find these signs along some of the trails throughout the Alpine Loop. The day previous, we were hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon and saw a small snake. I almost turned around and went home. Kent has been teasing me about Rocky Mountain Clown snakes. There's really no such thing, right?!

Crystal Springs

Shelob

There was a fire in this area a few years ago, but luckily, it did not ruin the Springs. This old, burned-out tree reminded me of Shelob from Lord of the Rings.
